A street photograpy project, in mauritius
I spent the last three years, from 2021 to 2024, wandering through long winter and summer nights.
Documenting scenes of life that awaken just as the world falls asleep. I covered various villages and towns across the island, armed with my camera.

The night is a fascinating time in our days. Its mysterious darkness reveals treasures of light. The people, the places, the shops… Everything is different, adorned with an unexpected beauty that captivated me. So much so that after my first night outing, I returned home exhausted but more awake than ever.
I knew I would go back. I just didn’t know I wouldn’t want to stop for three years.

The result is a series of hundreds of images. astonishing, beautiful, and mysterious. Sometimes poetic and gentle, sometimes eerie and unsettling.
A face of our island yet to be unveiled.
